Historic Home Tour - Loch Aerie (AKA Lockwood Mansion)
Loch Aerie, AKA Glen-Loch, AKA Lockwood Mansion was built in 1865 by William E. Lockwood, esq., a Philadelphia businessman, in Chester County Pennsylvania. It was designed by famed architect Addison Hutton with landscape design by Charles Miller, the Fairmount Park landscape designer. The design is described in the 1958 Historic American Buildings Survey as being of Italianate Design with Victorian Gothic details.

Historic Entrance Guided Tour at Mammoth Cave National Park, Kentucky
Mammoth Cave is the longest cave system in the world (over 360 miles, 580 km.) It became a U.S. National Park in 1941, and a World Heritage Site in 1981. National Park guides lead underground tours that range from 30 minutes to 6.5 hours. The Historic Entrance tour takes 2 hours and is 2 miles (3.5 km.) in length. A cool blast of air marks the entrance point, and a dimly-lit set of stairs leads down into a series of tubular caverns that are larger than an average subway (Tube, Metro, 地下鉄) station. Deep in the cave, a catwalk crosses the so-called Bottomless Pit, and at Fat Mans Misery a low cave roof forces visitors to crouch along a narrow single-file path. Finally, the cave entrance is regained via a steel staircase tower of over 130 steps.

We're staying in Bandit's Bungalow, a two-bedroom waterfront cottage that's perfect for families. Not only does it have a fully stocked bar, but there are heated bathroom floors, a private deck, and a wood-burning stove. Your stay comes with a welcome delivery of their famous BBQd oysters in the afternoon, followed by a delicious continental breakfast in the morning.
Nick's Cove has 12 different cottages to choose from. Five sit on the waterfront, and seven sit just across the highway in a eucalyptus grove. This was a tour of the newest Arleigh Burke class commissioned in OCT 6 2012 here in New York city. She is named for a United States Navy SEAL lieutenant & Medal of Honor recipient Michael P. Murphy (1976--2005) he is the first person to be awarded the U.S. military's highest decoration, the Medal of Honor, for his actions during the War in Afghanistan and also the first member of the U.S. Navy to receive the award since the Vietnam War.

From Patty: "I had the pleasure of staying at The Huntington Hotel & Nob Hill Spa in December of 2012 and they were the most wonderful accommodations that I have had in all my visits to San Francisco.
I stayed in the junior suite on the 10th floor. The junior suite is 485 sq ft and has a king size bed, a large work desk, and a conversation area with furniture, magazines and a TV. It has a view looking back toward Downtown and the neighborhoods of San Francisco. I could see Union Square from my room!
Because The Huntington Hotel was originally constructed as luxury apartments, they offer more space than most San Francisco accommodations (for a very reasonable price). It felt as big as a one-bedroom apartment (minus the kitchen) and one could easily stay there for an extended period of time without feeling uncomfortable.
The Huntington Hotel also houses the award winning Nob Hill Spa where the setting instantly transports you to a state of relaxation as soon as you step through their doors. Trust me. I had a massage there and it was the perfect ending to a physically exhausting trip (thanks to all uphill walks).
